Who Knows How Many Campus Groups We Have?
How many campus ministry groups DO we have? You hold the answer!
Are campus groups growing? Shrinking? Doing interfaith work? Who supports them? Are they reaching new UUs? Are they helping our recently bridged youth stay connected?
These are just a few of the questions I hear frequently as the Young Adult and Campus Ministry Associate of the Unitarian Universalist Association. The truth of the matter is that I simply don’t know the answers. I do have a spreadsheet with contact information that is somewhat outdated, I have lots of anecdotes and stories and I have interactions with folks doing this work all over the country. But as for cold hard updated data?… Um… well…
Well, I long for it, like an overwhelmed first year student at a new confusing college environment longs to be in a comforting small group ministry with her fellow Unitarian Universalists.
Fortunately there is a solution for our need for data, just as there are groups out there for that hypothetical first year seeking student!
The solution is the spring 2014 UU Campus Ministry Groups Census. Making the solution work is where you come in.
Are you part of a campus ministry group? Make sure someone from your group fills out our census form! Don’t worry – if more than one person submits the form, that’s OK! We’ll figure that out when we process the data, and kudos to you for being a successful booster!
Do you know about a campus ministry group? Pass along this link and encourage them to fill out the form! Spread it far and wide so that we may accurately assess the state of Unitarian Universalist campus ministry and provide better support.
You will not only be helping the UUA support campus ministries, but if you fill out the form by May 1st your group will be eligible to win a small chalice or a UUA bookstore gift certificate to buy yourselves a meditation manual, hymnal or other wonderful book!
You know your campus ministry group needs one – so go ahead and
