Sexuality Education Training for Students
May 3, 2012
Greetings Campus Ministry Leader,
We want to invite you to an exciting opportunity to create a more sexually healthy environment on your college campus. Our Whole Lives (OWL) is a comprehensive sexuality education curriculum created by the Unitarian Universalist Association and the United Church of Christ. It is currently being used on college campuses to help create more sexually healthy individuals and communities.
This summer two trainings are taking place in MidAmerica , and we’d like to help you get there. The first will be taking place in Minneapolis, MN on May 18-20 and the other in St. Louis, Missouri on August 24-25. The Mid-America Region and Office of Youth and Young Adult Ministries at the UUA want to make sure that if you are interested in going you are able to attend.
We would pay for you to travel and attend that training, and in turn would expect that you bring back aspects of this OWL training to your college community. We would also want to hear two updates from you during the 2012-2013 academic year about what you are working on, so we can share these stories and others can be inspired by your work.
In particular, we are seeking young adults to be trained for this YA/CM OWL initiative who seek a deeper grounding in living healthy, ethical, humane, and sustainable lives. Our profound commitment to comprehensive sexuality education, for all ages, has the core holistic premise that having safe, compassionate, and committed groups to explore challenges, joys, and questions will lead us to live lives of greater health and meaning.
We look forward to hearing from you,
Nancy and Kayla
