Your Passport to a Broader Experience
SATURDAY MARCH 10: PASSPORT DAY in the U.S.A.“
As the U.S. Department of State points out, “Planning travel outside the United States? First, get your U.S. passport.”
ARE YOU GOOD TO GO?
The UUA provides information and support for youth and young adults to participate on service trips and other growth experiences that involve travel abroad throughout the year. If you are a youth or young adult who is interested in participating in one of these trips it is a good idea to get your passport now – even if you don’t anticipating traveling soon. It is also the “gold-standard” for personal identification and proof of citizenship, and attendees at Justice General Assembly in Phoenix, AZ may want to consider carrying documentation that can demonstrate proof of citizenship.
THINK IT CAN’T HAPPEN TO YOU?
We hear stories like this all the time: in January the UUA would have financially helped a young adult to take a suddenly vacated spot in a Borderlinks trip, but he could not go because he did not have a passport.
WITH THIS IT WON’T!
On Saturday, March 10 only, you can apply for your U.S. passport at a Regional Passport Agency without an appointment. You will be able to apply for standard processing (4-6 weeks) or pay an additional $60 for expedited processing (2-3 weeks, door-to-door). Passport Day in the USA events are being held at Regional Passport Agencies and many Passport Acceptance Facilities across the country. Go to the Passport Day website and scroll down to the location finder to apply for a passport.
