YA Grant Program Open for Business
Revamped Young Adult Ministry Project Grants program accepting applications!
The UUA embraces a vision of young adult ministry that is as diverse as the young adults we serve, and these grants can support a broad array of programs in congregations and beyond. If you’re a UU young adult, apply for a grant to underwrite local projects that offer opportunities to grow in faith, deepen in spirit, pursue your own initiatives for leading our faith, and engage in service and justice work.
Find more information here, and share it with your friends and contacts to help us get the word out!
Here are some of the things we look for:
- Grassroots support – Projects that tap into the energy of young adult communities and the issues and activities that excite them; grants are most effective when they launch or enhance dynamic initiatives developed by and for young adults
- Return on investment – Proposals that have matching support from groups like congregations and districts, are used to remove significant programming obstacles, or enhance capacity and provide the foundation for future programs.
- Accountability to historically marginalized groups – Projects which serve traditionally marginalized groups, including LGBTQ young adults, racial or ethnic minorities, young adults who are differently abled, and others. These groups, traditionally underserved in our denomination, our communities and our country, are important to keep at the forefront of our ministry.
The deadline for priority consideration is January 9, 2012.
